Pat and "Inspirado"

I have spent most of 2008 focused on the basics of horsemanship. Kathleen and I have worked together on seemingly simple tasks like leading, picking up feet, tacking up; and I have learned how these affect all my interactions with my horses. Also, we are refining lungeing, and I have learned to appreciate the nuances in this activity and its importance for riding. This is a lot of fun and has a wonderful positive effect on my riding.

Marci and "Indy"

My new Morgan had serious issues taking the bit. It sometimes took up to 45 min. to get a bit in his mouth with a lot of head throwing and rearing. I brought him to Kathleen for help. Applying her natural horsemanship techniques and a lot of patience, Indy now takes a bit with no problem and no fuss. Kathleen taught me that taking leadership with my horse and following a consistent routine each and every time can make all the difference.
